Gaming now a days has taken on motion control. From Kinect, to using the Wii remote to swing swords, run, fish, shoot, and many other actions. It seems to become more common.
Now, some motion controls I'm all for. For instance, using the Wiimote to aim a weapon. The Wiimote makes it so much easier to precisely hit your target, rather than using an analog stick, which makes it incredibly more difficult to aim.
However, games that require more movement, cause me to lose interest. There aren't many games where you are required to move excessively, but it seems more and more are being made. To me, nothing beats being exhausted after a long days work, slouching on the couch, and playing a video game. Motion controls can be fun, but I really don't want the whole industry to become motion controlled.
A lot of full-motion games are workout games, however. I personally find workout games pointless. Why spend $50 on a workout game when you can buy a gym membership? But hey, whatever floats their boat I suppose.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on motion controls, and do you think in the future, that more and more games will require extensive motion controls?

The future will probably implement motion controls as well as whatever new tech we see going forward. I don't see the big three forgoing motion controls after going to such lengths to bring them to market. Especially not Nintendo since they built a whole console around it.
So yeah, I do think more games will make them a requirement but maybe not all. There will probably still be a few that we'll need Classic Controller-type peripherals to play.

My thoughts on motion controls are they same I have for touch screens. They need to be used in a way where pressing a button for the exact same action is just as feasible.
Usually that means pointing at the screen or using them to preform a special attack or something that requires accuracy. I enjoyed it being used in golf games and shooters, but felt they were unneccesary in other titles like punch-out where the controls aren't easier to use than the classic controls of the original.

Touch screens I'm more than fine with, as I find it pretty convenient.
Motion controls, though. I'll try to be brief: When I think of playing a game, I think of it because I want to do something that is enjoyable and won't tire me out. You know, something to so when I just feel like relaxing, but full-on relaxing sounds boring. Motion controls are nice for some things, but I really do not like them in excess and I especially do not like it when they could easily be replaced with some sort of button. Honestly, I don't want it to get to the point where when I want to relax, I can't do so by playing a game. If I wanted exercise or to be active, I would go and exercise at that moment and be active.

I am getting pretty tired of the motion controls about now. At first they were cool, but the novelty factor has worn off. I much prefer chillin with a controller, as that's what video games are for. Chilling. Not flapping around and getting a sore arm. Some games are fun to have motion controls, but others should definitely NOT have motion controls.

I think the future will move towards more immersion. Like a H.M.D. in a room where we can run around shooting enemies. Right now, motion controls are more of a gimmick than anything else. But with things like aiming weapons, I do like that because that DOES increase immersion.
