HELLO AND WELCOME TO BOMBER MAN TEXT EDITION!

This is more of an experiment I'm having to see how well people can keep track of where they are going and where others are going at the same time using ideas of relative distance and spatial visualization. PSYCHOLOGY EXPERIMENT OH YEAH!

So, first off I need four volunteers! (If we like this I may up it to 8 on the next round) Anyway....PICK A COLOR!

Red: Trinity!

Green. Mageleif!

Blue: Grooms!

Yellow: NintendoQueen!

Object of the game: The object of the game is to kill all other opponents with placed bombs.

How to play:

The game starts on an 8x8 playing field, each player is place in one corner of the playing field at random. You DO NOT know where you are nor where any blocks or opponents are, you must figure that out by information given. You may use this unmarked sheet to keep track of where you are as well as the locations of other players.

O's are for blocks that are destroyable, X's are for blocks NOT destroyable. All the colors represent a player.

The game will start with each player has given me an instruction to move them or place a bomb. Once all the players have given me one instruction I give them results of those instructions, from there you have to decide where you are and what happened.

When moving, you may move one square in any direction. If something is in your path you will not move at all.

When using a bomb, you will place it and automatically be moved to the safest place that is at least 4 squares from where you placed a bomb (that is, the place you are standing plus 4 squares), assuming you haven't trapped yourself. Bombs will blow up 3 squares (the place where the bomb is plus 3 squares) in all surrounding directions. Explosions will stop if they hit a block, but not if they hit a player.

Bombs will be blown up at the end of each round, not immediately after the bomb is placed. So that all the players can finish their moves before being blown to smithereens.

Remember:

Opponents can be trapped in areas, as they cannot walk over bombs. If they make a move that makes them run into a bomb, they will stay put and most likely be killed by the bomb when it explodes. Try to use this to your advantage.

Results will look like this:

Red moved right 1 space!

Blue placed a bomb and was move 2 spaces left, 2 down.

Green was killed!

Yellow hit a wall above him.

The game ends when only one remains!

I do not have a job now, but student teaching feels like a job (an unpaid one... ;~; ). I do want to end up teaching in a preschool, even though there are not many benefits (I believe, I could be wrong). 

I just know I NEVER EVER want to work at a daycare ever again. I've worked at 2 different ones, and both were horrible experiences (not the kids, but the staff members at both places); and at a summer art camp and a part time art teacher last fall.

Back in my high school and early college days, I worked at the county government building in the Auditor's Office (my mama works there), and that was fun to me. I got to file things, help out with odds & ends sorts of things...however, I was laid off after working there for 4 years (off and on).

If I didn't go the education path, I would have chosen interior designing, which is very interesting and fun for me to do.

As I mentioned, I want to work with preschoolers. I find them more fun to work with, and I feel more at ease when teaching the younger children. First grade is alright, I just think it's the specific group of children I work with that is bogging me down...But I digress.

So, I've been re-reading Death Note, and I'm surprised I didn't catch all the subtle things in the books before. Like the little gambits L and Light play against each other, the things going on in the background, etc...

So, yesterday Nintendo made one of the best announcements ever: a sequel to my favorite video game. The official name in North America is undecided, but "A Link to the Past 2" seems to be the name we've settled on for discussion purposes.

I'm very much into it, it's a very competitive, less arcade-y, more methodical FPS. Especially if you are playing Competitively. I'm guilty of clocking about 350 hours on it since I bought it last Fall.

But yeah, a discussion topic for the game is now here. I should mention that there are loads of custom maps, a lot of them being very very good. I'd love to be able to play with ya'll on it.

Chronicled

First Day

…bright.

That’s the first thought I had, that much I can distinctly recall. Some events are more difficult to recall than others and I wish I had thought of chronicling my experiences sooner. I’m writing this on Day 4, circumstances have left me with free time. Though anyone will likely never read this, it’s comforting to know that I may someday be remembered.

I was standing on a sandbar overlooking the river. Across the river was a tropical jungle, while behind me lay frozen tundra. I recall noting that this was an odd climate, in retrospect, this now seem like a perfectly natural landscape for this world. With the options of cool or warm, I opted for warm and lush and fought my way through the dense jungle terrain without aim or purpose.

I originally thought I was alone. There was no hint of intelligent life. Then I found it: A sunken stone construction in the midst of dense jungle foliage. Not knowing anything about this region, I should have stayed away, yet my curiosity overrode my suspicion. I almost felt drawn towards it.

Brushing aside some leaves, I cautiously entered the ancient structure. There were mushrooms along one wall, which I collected, with stairs leading up and stairs leading down. I ascended the stairs to find an empty room with windows. I decided this would make an excellent shelter for the night then and there. Then I went downstairs, where there were no windows. It was completely dark, save for some light entering through a broken wall and ceiling. Three levers were on the wall and I pulled them to see what would happen. Two appeared to do nothing, while a third made something further in make a sound. Leaving the levers, I turned the corner, inching forward.

A sudden twang made me jump and I was hit in the shoulder by something sharp.

Pain!

Reeling from the blow, I stumbled backward, and another something flew at me. I passed out.

1. Gameplay:

This one is a big very unlikely rumor, but it's been said that the next Smash bros may not turn out to be a 2D fighter. It may end up being a 3D one instead or even an RPG. This is mostly based on the fact that the developers of the "Tales of..." series is working on the game. Although this is HIGHLY unlikely because it would remove the competitive multiplayer aspect, it might be cool right?

There is also something about a collecting and trading system for either the fighters themselves, stickers, or the trophies.

Sakurai has been quoted on saying "I intend to change direction a little as we go." He also said that the change will be there to benefit the 3DS/Wii U dual support.

2. Characters:

Obviously, the entire cast from the last game will probably be returning, but Snake and Sonic will probably not. Other omissions may include: MetaKnight (do to the world wide dislike of him), Ike (Someone new may step in instead) Lucario (to be replaced by someone Gen V or Gen VI), and Wario (no reason why that I can find).

Third Party support is probably going to be decreased in the new Smash Bros. As Sakurai has made this clear in his interviews. Although there has been an image uploaded to the net that states otherwise. Fake or not, it details more third party characters, removal of tripping, and making movement for Samus more similar to Other M. (Images are posting right now for some reason, so here are links.)

On the Official Profess Layton twitter, there was a tweet a few years ago about him describing himself in Smash Bros 4, along with Little Mac, and Mega Man. It's probably not really eluding to the next Smash Bros, considering how far away it was from being even hinted at by Nintendo. Professor Layton has however been highly voted for in many press polls for Smash Bros. Considering that's how Sonic got in, it's likely for him to get in as well.

Sakurai has also talked about being able to create customizeable characters on the 3DS, this character could then be uploaded to the Wii U. Mii's are the most likely choice for such a thing.

That's really all I could find on it. Sadly there has been no mention of stages, items, or even story around anywhere. If I do hear something I will be sure to post it here though.

Mine is: 50 Ways to Say Goodbye by Train (my brother was playing it on guitar this morning).

 I am now about to start the 7th chapter, I beat the first DLC map ,(I won't tell you what I got as a prize)  and I have to say that this is perfect for a beginner like me. I love that you have so many options to choose from, of course I am on normal mode and casual, I really don't like the idea of my characters dying off. I need them. :) and I want to hear all they have to say. I have reset twice, once I killed off someone I wanted to recruit.:P

FE awakening is visually beautiful, and exciting. It did not take me long to figure out how to work things and where to find information. I miss not being able to just wander in towns and on a world map, at free will, but there is so much going on and the story is really fascinating , the characters are funny, and serious in turns and are all very interesting. I know you can get married in the game, so I am really playing around with seeing who works best together. I can see it is the character's stories that drive this type of game, the game play itself is challenging, like a game of chess, and you have to really think about placement and weapons, but it is the interest in the story that keeps one going forward.

I am very glad I tried the demo and also glad I get to experience a new type of game. I may have to look at others in this series at some point.

I want to tell you about the new Poke`mon challenge I came up with (it's a version of the popular "Nuzlocke" challenge). I call it the "Tu`Locke Challenge" (pronounced "Too-Lock"), as it's easier than then "Nuzlocke" challenge though. The rules are below:

Rules:

#1. *Poke`mon are NOT dead, they have fainted like the regular games.

#2.1. You can catch up to 4 Poke`mon in a certain area (such as a certain route).

#2.2. You can only catch poke`mon with different genders as in: Say you start with a Male Poke`mon

you can ONLY catch a Female Poke`mon, then you can catch ether a Maleor Female, if after you have a Male and Female you might catch a Male then you HAVE to catch a Female.

#3.1. *You can deposit and withdraw Poke`mon from a PC.

#3.2. You can decorate pokeballs if your in a game like "Pearl".

#4. YOU HAVE TOO NICKNAME ALL YOUR POKE`MON!!!!!! (Most important rule) It builds a better relation between you and your poke`mon.

Anywho, I thought it would be interesting to start a thread about favorite books and authors. I'm usually looking for something new to read if I've got the time. 

My favorite author, hands down, is Tamora Pierce. Her work is not quite as recognized as I think it should be. In fact, not many people have heard of her. Her works are fantasy. She has two different series, one based in a land called Tortall and another based in another land that I can't quite recall. x.x (I have one of these books at the home waiting to be read. I am yet to get into this series.)

I am currently reading The Hunger Games. Yes, it took me this long to read it. And yes, I saw the movie first. I prefer to read the books first because I like to imagine the characters as I see them and then interpret the movie. Since the series was so popular, it was constantly checked out at my local library and school library. Now that I'm finally reading it, I wished I had just bought it. I'm hooked.

And I like Harry Potter, of course.

That's about it right now. So...discuss away. :)

It'll be a downloadable title for PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. So I can't imagine it being that expensive.

The pitch is simple: allow users to easily listen to music from old video games directly in their [Google Chrome] web browsers. On the Nintendo side, the site features extensive catalogs of music for NES, SNES, Game Boy (including SGB and GBC), and DS games.

To quickly address a few of the FAQs:

1) Google Chrome is necessary because of a certain technology it supports which enables this type of project (something called Native Client).

2) I hope to add a lot more platforms eventually. GBA and N64 music collections exist; I anticipate GBA will be relatively easy to add, but I fear that N64 might be a bit complex.

I hope the site provides hours of entertainment to the retro-minded Nintendo enthusiast!
