I had very low expectations for this game. The game looked amusing, but funny story/characters don't sell me a $60 game if the game play is terrible. I downloaded the demo out of curiosity and because I had a friend who had great expectations for the game dying to play it.
The first time I played it was just ok. Second time I got the hang of it and started doing better.
Then I got my friend involved, and we played for almost 8 hours total over Saturday and Sunday. Most of that was Saturday. We did everything in the story over and over and over (all both easy and normal difficulty). My best is a gold medal on normal; my friend managed platinum.
And we played the co-op. We had 3 players several times. The co-op mission mode is a lot of fun - it's made better by the Easter egg that lets you unlock Wonder Pink (whip) and Wonder Yellow (hammer) for the mission mode.
No one I played with (5 people total, including me) cared for the touch screen. The right analog stick is magic. The game has a learning curve, but it's fantastic fun when you get the hang of it.
My hype for this game went from zero to through the roof. I'm very excited about The Wonderful 101. I highly recommend checking out the demo.
