Anyone played the older games on the 3ds? if so perhaps you could ask this question, which is considered better, playing a game on the original game system the game came on, for example, Legend of Zelda: Oracle of seasons on the Game Boy Color. That or on the 3DS?

What are your opinions on this?

I'd have to go with the 3ds
The backlit screen, the rechargeable batteries, it just seems better.

Although the screen appears to be smaller than you remember it ever being so, but it isn't. Now that being said, what Tai said is what I think as well. The backlit screen makes it so much easier to play the game alone that I also have to go with the 3DS, but I do miss the classic, nostalgic feel of playing it on the original HHS. It's like, say, playing a GBC game on a GBA (specifically the SP), it looks and plays much nicer than it would on the GBC if you have ever done that.

I prefer the 3DS.

The only problem I have though is with the Oracle of Ages/Seasons games, you can't get into the Advanced Shop because the emulator is a Game Boy Color instead of a Game Boy Advance, so this makes 100%-ing the game impossible. :\

hmm, true, unless you some had the physical copy and stuck it into the GBA.

Also, I would agree about the 3ds considering I don't own a Nintendo NES to play the old games.

Didn't the two games share alot of stuff back and forth? Maybe Nintendo should work on a way to get that extra plot/content/etc.

It's best to play GB/C games on a backlit SP because the aspect ratio isn't perfect on a 3DS.

But 3DS > original GameBoy.

Keatos hammered it on the head of the nail, like I said, SP's are the best to play GB© games on.

I like the nostalgia of playing the old systems every once in a while, but as practically everyone else has said, the backlight just makes it a whole lot better. Plus I like the ability to create a Virtual Restore. This might be a kinda cheap thing to do, but I create one right before I go into a boss chamber so that if I die while battling the boss, I can go right back to the door instead of trekking through the dungeon again. That's just because I'm lazy.

Wasn't the gameboy color, one of the few earlier handheld systems?

Hence the reason why it didn't had much light(in) then.

------------------

Either way, since I never played old games in the 3DS system.

My only choice would be gameboy color.
