ALRIGHT, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO FINISH THIS RIGHT NOW. HOWEVER, I'M POSTING SOME STUFF THAT'S ALREADY COMPLETED SO THAT YOU CAN START WITH THE APPLICATIONS. THERE WILL BE A THREAD LATER ON TO KEEP YOUR PROFILES.
APPLICATIONS ONLY, PLEASE. QUESTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS CAN BE PMED TO ME.
INTRODUCTION:
Time and space have returned to equilibrium; the world is once against at peace. Exploration has become an increasingly popular field of work, and thus now the far reaches of the planet are being searched. Teams are being formed, scouring for treasure. New dungeons, previously unknown, are being brought into light.
However, things are still amiss. There have been mysterious appearances of tunnels in certain dungeons, gateways in certain forests, that the most famous of explorers have claimed did not exist before. It is commonly believed that a supernatural force is at work. This has also risen to be a major safety concern; teams that have entered these dungeons have not yet returned, and teams that explore the most normal of dungeons disappear without a trace.
Furthermore, Treasure Town is in chaos. The mass appearance of so many Exploration Teams has made it impossible for everything to operate smoothly. Even the most basic of services, including Kangaskan Storage and Duskull Bank, are no longer able to function. The various Exploration Guilds have cooperated and forcing teams outside of the town, where they have set up makeshift bases and tents to sleep. The Pelliper Mail Service is working almost exclusively for Official Guilds, the Exploration Committee, and the original residents of Treasure Town. Even evolution does not always occur when it should; only a rare few are able to evolve, yet no one knows why.
Exploration has now become an incredibly competitive business. It is well-nigh impossible to differentiate friend from foe. Finding work sways between unbelievably simple and completely unrealistic; provisional mission boards have been set up, but important requests are sent to the Guilds for expert assistance. With teams randomly disappearing and new dungeons randomly appearing, it is hard to keep the secretly communicated information from being leaked. Make alliances, or break them; it is your decision. Work to join a Guild, or work independently. Help the needy, or remain greedy.
Are you prepared to make your mark?
Are you prepared to survive in the Exploration business?
Are you prepared to face the impending doom?
Are you prepared to rise as an Exploration Team?
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Pipeline’s newest Pokemon roleplay, the Mystery Dungeon roleplay. It is very much based off of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon video games for the Nintendo DS, so I suggest familiarizing yourself with its concepts before joining this roleplay. (I will be summarizing key features of the games at a later time.)
A Brief Summary and Difference List:
In the traditional Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, the main character is a human-turned-Pokemon in a world where humans do not exist. The protagonist then starts a Rescue Team (originally) or Exploration Team with a partner Pokemon, and then they take missions, recruit members, and assist in saving the world. This roleplay will operate similarly. You start off as a Pokemon and start an Exploration Team. However, none of you are allowed to have been human; the appearance of a human in the Pokemon world is a rare event that does not generally occur.
In Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, the concept of a Guild was introduced. This is an idea that shall be implemented heavily into the roleplay. In addition to starting a team, the team leader may affiliate the group with a Guild. At first there shall only be two guilds: mine and Wigglytuff’s. Joining a guild gives you special privileges (with a common benefit being larger access to a wider variety of missions), but will often have restrictions (including HEAVY taxes). A team is allowed to not affiliate itself with a Guild, building up its reputation on its own and fending for itself in a highly competitive business.
All Pokemon evolutions must be approved by myself, as well as the construction of different buildings for your team. The recruitment of legendaries is also strictly prohibited. Also, recruited Pokemon, as in the games, are generally only at their lowest evolution stage.
How to Play:
This roleplay will be run like the Pokemon Team Otium Roleplay. You undertake missions, writing them like mini fan-fictions, for rewards and reputation. Reputation will NOT be awarded in completion points; depending on the quality of you’re writing, I’ll increase you’re teams status, reputation, and rank.
DETAILS ON GUILDS AND SUCH SHALL BECOME LATER. FOR NOW, THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN FILL OUT IN YOUR APPLICATION FORM:
Team Name:
Team Leader: your roleplay character. You need a name and species. Must be 1st evo.
Partner (optional): you can have a partner Pokemon, whom you will also roleplay. Follow same guidelines as for the leader.
What you will have to fill out later:
Team Specialty: I’ll list them
Guild Affiliation: more details on this later as well
RULES:
1) No G-Modding: You should fail a mission every once in a while. You also shouldn't recruit too many Pokemon; remember that these characters are all human-like, which means that having 4 Pokemon on a team will mean that you need to control 4 distinct different characters.
2) No taking control of other people's characters.
3) Follow forum rules. (Swearing/cursing is actually allowed when in character.)
4) You can only recruit Pokemon that belong to the dungeon you are exploring. Also, you can only recruit first evo Pokemon. Legendaries are completely off limits. (Having one appear in a mission must be discussed with me beforehand.)
5) You must keep your profile updated here: http://forum.nintend...553-team-bases/
