Also, mushrooms can allow you to escape a blue shell in MKWii if you time it right.

However, lightning can't be avoided with a mushroom. However, it CAN get you back to normal size if I'm not mistaken.

You know what powerup blows?

Ink.

Yes the only real way you are going to be able to test it is with people who won't do things like that and allow you to try it.

Yeah, it's kid of obnoxious.

I think that Lightning may be worse overall.

You drop your items, and you slow down.

It's actually pretty annoying when you think about it.

Meh, idk. Ink's not that bad after you have played enough to memorize the courses. Of course it can help block your way of seeing bananas and stuff.

I meant blows in a bad way. It's useless.

Oh I see. Yeah, I'll agree with you there, unless you're playing with someone who's not familiar with the courses on that game, or if you're playing on one of those courses with traffic.

That's true. That does get annoying when you get a useless item in that situation.

I don't think you even really have to know your way around. It's still really easy to see.

Plus it goes away fast.

And a boost instantly gets rid of it.

You know what I have a love/hate relationship with? Bullet bills. They can completely save me if it's towards the end of the race and I'm doing bad, but if I'm up around first, and a bullet bill comes mowing me down, how that makes me mad. >:O There was one time I used a bullet bill on Wario's Gold Mine and it actually flew off the track and got me a lakitu just as I used it. It was really funny cause it was just like "gahahaha I'm going to mess you up, kid!", but it was also really infuriating because it wasn't really my fault at all...

Yeah, I've actually never had a bullet bill... I wouldn't know. I'm almost always in first or second.

I fall behind every now and then when I get item raped... I don't play very often, though, so yeah...

I have my doubt about that. The best we can hope for is they make it a bit more balanced, but I am not getting my hopes up for that.

Well in maple something when a blue shell almost hit me i went into the portal/cannon thing and just barely dodged it.

Whenever you're flying through the air, items can't affect you. :D

In Mario Kart 64 (and Super Circuit, IIRC), the Blue/Spiny Shell travelled along the ground, following the track until it hits the leader, knocking over anyone else in the way.

I wish this was still how the blue shell worked. I think knocking into everyone else was a good idea.
