While I had a really fun day, I did get extremely pissed off at one thing.

I went to a play at my old high school because I was supporting a friend (mainly my younger sister's friend, but I speak with her when I see her). Everything was fine until I went to get some water from the water fountain. Right above two of them were bible verses.

...

I wanted to smack somebody in the face right then and there. I even noticed later that there was a huge sign saying "Jesus Christ" in the cafeteria.


YOU CANNOT DO THAT!

My guess was that the idiotic FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) did it. The principal was there, and I thought about saying something to him about it, but I didn't want to mess up a principal actually giving a crap about the drama program at that school.

I was getting very frustrated, and I told my younger sister, but she was like "I know, but I'm not the one who did it."

But she knew I was just venting before my dad joined us at the car (because he would have been completely fine with it. That's just how he is.)

Though seriously, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PUT BIBLE VERSES AROUND AT A SCHOOL. Even strong supporters of religion should understand why that is wrong. If it was just one sign with a bible verse that was like "Join FCA if you like the jesus stuff!," I could understand, but you can't just leave bible verses around. That is complete bull shit.

If it was just one sign with a bible verse that was like "Join FCA if you like the jesus stuff!," I could understand, but you can't just leave bible verses around. That is complete bull shit.

I see nothing wrong with it as long as the verses represent a moral standard that would help people live their life better. But I guess that's just me. I hardly see Bible verses as something offensive. Most of that stuff is good advice that can be applied to a healthy life.

That is like THE definition of pushing religion down kids' throats. You can teach people ways to have a good life without making it religious. I won't say the bible is entirely full of terrible things (though I would never say there aren't any) with good ideas, but you cannot just tell kids to have religion. From what I saw, it was done in poor tastes and excessively. There is a difference in posting a sign "If you want to learn about Christianity, come to our group" and just leaving signs basically telling people how to be without any explanation.

The morality isn't the point. The point is that religion should only be allowed in school in relation to education, not by indoctrination.
