Alright, I'm highly frustrated because I can not connect to Nintendo WFC with my Pokemon Platinum version game, but I CAN connect with my Black version. I know it's because my router is set to WPA and the DS is only compatible with WEP (which is stupid, since WPA is much, much more secure). What I don't get is that I am using Platinum in my 3DS and I don't understand why it still won't work. Does anybody happen to know if there's a way around this WITHOUT having to change my router's security settings? Just thought I'd ask. :p

Black runs in dsi mode, meaning it can use wpa.
Platinum runs in ds mode meaning it can't use the newer features that the dsi introduced like wpa.

Also if you ran black in any flashcart except the cycloDS it will run in ds mode meaning you can't use wpa even though you're on black version.

The only way you can fix this is to make your router WEP. Sorry.

Had the same problem. I had to wait for a new DS though because we didn't want to change the security.

How about HeartGold/SoulSilver? Are they compatible with WPA? I guess it isn't that big of a deal, but I really don't want to downgrade my router security settings.

Those run is ds mode too, so no.

The way around it is to use a cyclo dsi flashcart and forcibly run those games in dsi mode. I think. I have little experience with that cart.
