So a friend of mine told me about this suspense indie game called Slender. The game is fantastic. Nothing fancy, there's no story, and it only last ten or so minutes (more if you can't find pages - the objective of the game), and should scare the crap out of you especially if played under the right conditions.

Basically you control an unnamed character in the woods who is looking to find eight pages. You have to get all eight before it...well, you'll have to play to find out.

If you haven't played this game, I highly recommend you do not watch any gameplay footage. I didn't before I played, and it made the experience way more enjoyable and frightening. Also, play it at night with the lights out, and headphones. It's the best way.

I recorded myself playing it last night. Don't watch it until you play the game first. For the record, this was my first time ever recording my gameplay and I'm a newbie at it. I'm not sure why the frame rate looks so bad, and the video made the fog look ugly. Sorry about that. :'I

I played it because I heard it was scarier than Amnesia but it's far too short to properly become immersed into it, which was disappointing.

It's not a screamer, no. It's an atmospheric horror game.

Fixed. I agree it'd be even more scary if it was deeper, but I still enjoyed it. But maybe because I'm a wimp and get scared easily.

I'm hoping they (or another developer) will expand on the concept. I think it'd make a good game.

It is. They were good stories, but I think it was really silly that people thought they were real (and some people still do).

This sounds a lot like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but I haven't played that one yet either.

I guess it's a lot scarier when you play yourself. I got a bit sick watching since its first person. But it didn't feel scary watching since you were talking. I think if you do it again don't talk and it will be scary.

There wouldn't be much point in him making the video, then, since the game is free. :v if someone disliked the commentary they could just play it themselves.

Well it was just a suggestion. I mean I can't play first person because I puke, but watching I'm okay for a bit longer then if I had to play myself. And since he said he might record again then I know I'd probably get scared if there wasn't commentary.

Granted, I was on an older version of the game, but I just thought it was kinda boring when I played it. It wasn't really scary, and Slenderman's model is horrible and sticks out too much. The walking speed was a bit TOO slow, too. I know why they did it like that, but there's atmospheric and then absurd. Maybe I'll try a more recent version, though. I think that was part of the problem.

Oh and I wanted to add, I did like the commentary lol. It just wasn't scary since your voice was laid back and made it more relaxing haha.
