I know I'm not the only one who got a game that they felt was really hard as a kid, but you kept it and finally beat it. Maybe this happened recently, maybe a couple of years ago, as long as for finally beat it after a long time it doesn't matter, you still get that rush of happiness.

I'll start if off I guess, one of the first games I got was Banjo-Kazooie for the N64. It took me 10 years to finally beat it. Not 100% (I missed a few notes in Rusty Bucket Bay and one Jiggy in Click Clock Woods), but I finally beat Grunty.

I think the one I most celebrated was when I had beaten the first Super Marios Bros. Which completed my list of finished every single Mario game ever made. (yes, ALL of them)

After that, there were a ton of old Super Nintendo games I used to own that I bought back recently. One of them I still have yet to finish is Joe & Mac 3, curse you skeleton t-rex >.<

Metal Gear Solid

I played it way back when it released but it was a rental and I had to return it. I didn't ever rent it again to complete it, so I picked it up on PSN a couple of years back and finally got through it. Too bad I hadn't earlier, it's a fantastic title.

I'm glad I saw this thread, cuz I was just reminded of certain old games that I need to beat. Like, Metroid Prime. I know it's not super old, but I've been at the final boss for a crazy long amount of time. I need to go through it again, and BEAT IT this time. I'll be posting here again soon. I SHALL RETURN!!!!!

Bubble Bobble.

All because I finally had someone to be the player 2. Man that restriction is bullshit.

The harder it is, the better it is.

That game sounds like fun. That, and it's fun to say lol. But I don't think I've heard of it. How do you play?

I know it's not exactly retro, but it's taken me since the launch of the game to finally man-up and beat Bioshock. I bought it for xbox originally, got about halfway (Fort Frolic) and just couldn't do it anymore, I was terrified. Re-bought it for PC when I eventually swapped primary platform and forced myself to finish it and was so glad I did.

I've been playing 1942 for NES since I was three years old, and I only just got the ending screen a few days ago.

After twelve hours and fifty levels of constant barragging by a screen of low-res airplanes and bullets, I finally got through the last level, was so excited to see the ending screen, and this is what it was:

"Congratulation"

Then it went to the title screen.

No picture, no fancy animation, not even plural, just one "Congratulation" for all of that crap. ah well.

Well, my brother has recently taken up Glover, which is a game I totally despise. It was so difficult as a child, and my brother is aware of my hatred for this game, so he decided to try and beat the game.

The lame thing is: every time he plays and gets further, the game erases that specific file he played on. No joke. He was pretty far too. It's no wonder why I hate it. ;]

So I guess I cannot say that this game has been beaten yet.

Yes he had one file that he played on (which was his original one), and then he tried playing on another save file, and the same thing happened. So 2 files have been deleted on this game...
