I'd say if anything it would be because of the holdouts who are saying:
"Last generation got expensive, and I can no longer afford all three. Might as well wait until I know what the other options are before I buy a next gen console."
Although the new consoles look to be more powerful than the Wii-U, that has never stopped Nintendo from dominating.
Look at when the SNES crushed the 3DO (32-bit) and the Jaguar (64-bit).
Look at when the NES managed to keep competing with sega's megadrive (Genesis) for about two years before their own 16-bit console.
And then managed to STILL crush the technologically superior 32x and eventually the Sega Saturn
Look at how much better they did in sales against the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Also, the 3DS has already sold >31 million consoles and 95 million games.
